vuze will have their own english prx patch with the folks over at celes-network. Coldbird is really pro at this, so doing a prx patch will not be too difficult for him.
ZexNimer/Nimer will also have an english patch.

Naturally, I’ll be rooting for teamhgg. There already is news of a patcher being done and ready for distribution in a few days.

If I come across any more people translating mhp3 I’ll update this post. For the moment, please enjoy some of teamhgg’s screencaps.

Or rather, there is now a method to play games requiring 6.36, which actually is just monster hunter portable 3.

It involves upgrading prometheus to the latest version. Apparently this leak originated from avg, but no comments on that. It’s just sad that liquidzigong has to retire.

It looks like this is the path but I’m not sure. Will update when I can: GEN D3 > 5.50 Prometheus V2 > The new 5.50 Prometheus

Note: I’ll keep updating this post with new info with regards to MHP3, check back every once in a while!

Update: 2 DEC 2010 830AM
liquidzigong has decided to stop the release of the MHP3 patch and is going to quit the scene. Sad news. There is still no word of whether the translation teams with the patcher will be releasing their own patches. So far it has been found that there’s at least 1MB of japanese text to translate, I would estimate it to take at least one full week before any of the chinese translation leaks out.

There is at least ONE patch that will enable cfw to run MHP3 that’s running all over the place. The video here:

Thing is, it won’t work for you. CFW does NOT work on it as of the time this article was written. You’ll need OFW 6.36 and an original UMD to play it. Incidentally, some really lucky players have gotten it from their retailers in Japan and Hongkong since yesterday. Good luck trying to get one, it’s gonna be sold out all over the place.

fix corrupted psp save files from different firmwares godeater

I was playing GodEater on the UMD, I had finished most of the download quests, I heard there was finally a patch for GodEater, I switched to CFW 5.5 GEN-D2. The game works on CFW, thanks to the brilliant hackers online, however, my save file was corrupted when I tried to load the game. I could start a new game save file and use the cwcheats available, but there was no point in that.

There is a way to fix corrupted psp saves from different firmwares, I’m pretty sure you can even use it to edit the unencrypted save files with the proper Gamekey.

Before you start, remember to backup all your save files. I cannot stress how important this is. Don’t be a fool, backup your files.

You’ll need the following files:
1. Gamekey for GodEater (ULJS00237.bin)
2. SED installed
3. Your non-working saved file

Here are instructions:
1. Put the ULJS00237.bin into your PSP\GAME\SED\gamekey\ directory

2. Run SED from the memory stick

3. Choose the non-working saved file, press the triangle key, and select 解密 (decrypt)

4. Select “YES”.

5. You should see 解密完成 (finished decrypting), after which quit SED.

6. From the PSP’s menu, select GAME > SAVED DATA UTILITY > non-working save file, DELETE. (YES, DELETE)

7. Run GodEater from the GAME > MEMORY STICK > GodEater. Create any character, save the game. Then quit the game.

9. Run SEC from the memory stick again8. This time, select the NEW WORKING SAVED FILE, and select 加密 (encrypt)

10. Select “Yes”

11. If all is well, you should see this 加密完成, if you see something like 解密済デ一タありません go find out how to fix it using the link on the bottom.

12. Run GodEater from the memory stick again, and this time load the file, you will realise that save actually is incorrect, but load it anyway.

13. Oh what do we have here? My original saved file? : D Everything is intact, except for the download quests.

14. It’s not complete until you save again, VIOLA!

God Eater 1.4 playstation network update

I think I managed to borke this update. Well anyway, for the rest of you folks, it’s already out since 28 April 2010.

I’ve tried numerous methods to get it working on CFW, including:

Downloading with PSP Media Go, then transferring to PSP. (Tells me that the PSP is already activated with a different id)
usbversionfake (Doesn’t allow me to connect to PSN after login)
psnlover (Allows me to log into PSN, can download 1.4, but can’t load the downloads in game)
registered with a Japanese PSN account (Doesn’t allow me to transfer from PSP Media Go, can download from Japanese PSN store, but unable to load downloads in game)

One of these might work for you, let me know with your CFW version and the method you used!

At this point, since I already flashed my PSP with CFW, there’s not much point in listing the files used in this download. Also, I want to bring out something I noticed. I have diffed the files from the OFW 6.2 download vs CFW download, they are the same. Which means this is either is the way they save the files, or some configuration problem with my PSP.
